I’m starting a new blog, focusing on Film Fatales and their style! So I thought I’d start off with a crossover post. Films with brides have always been successful, here are a couple of my favorite dresses from film over the years. Enjoy.
Claudette Colbert In It Happened One Night and Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face

Claire Pettibone has a beautiful dress that I feel embodies an updated version of this dress. Claudette Colbert’s gown at the time was ground a ground breaking design, as bias cut was necessarily popular yet.
Stephanie James Couture has an amazing selection of tea length dresses. I like this one because you don’t see boat neck styled tops very often, especially in a less formal dress. This one is fun and flirty though and very Audrey.

Here is an awesome trash the dress session by Erica Berger. If you haven’t checked her out then you should. This brides style is epic. I love how her accessories don’t just stand out they coordinate with her backdrop. Ah, I love my city.

I thought once I found my dress I could stop stressing about what I was wearing on the big day. Sike! I was so wrong. So now all I think about is what shoes I should wear. But the obsession doesn’t stop there. It’s my excuse to buy really awesome everyday shoes. So not only do I look into the cutest shoes I can find, but also how sturdy they are and how comfortable are….here’s what I like so far.

I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a white bridesmaids dress as my wedding gown, but so far I hadn’t seen anything that impressed me. But, oh, how so much can change in a day! I was really attracted to the Jenny Yoo Bridal Alternative line and made an appointment at Bella Bridesmaid, who carried the line. I was so impressed by this place, they even had a section of white alternative gowns. I found the perfect Badgley Mishka Dress for $290!!!!!! I’m so pumped, it’s not even funny. Here’s a couple of others we found through out the day we loved and some others I looked up for fun!

I don’t know about everyone else but I’m feeling the hurt of the economy. And yet, prices in the bridal industry are going up!!!!! WTF!!!!! So I’m on a hunt for an inexpesive dress, that looks like double what I paid. I’ve decided that a white bridesmaids dress is the way to go. And the good part of all that is you can still get a high end brand.
Here is a really pretty Augusta Jones Gown and it’s waaaay less expensive doppelganger from the Priscilla of Boston Vineyard Collection

A lot of companies that make solely bridesmaids gowns are now offering alternative wedding dresses, which are just their dresses in white, but some of these places are jacking up the price, annoying but still cheaper.

Still Dottie has an awesome tutorial on these adorable fabric flowers. I can rattle off, like, twenty things you could do with them. Plus, Christmas is coming up and who can really afford to buy their really expensive counterparts.

Find the tutorial here.
