I’m Baaaack

Between an upcoming wedding, starting cosmotology school and a part time job, I have totally neglected my blog. But let me catch everyone up as quickly as possible.

I’m now officially a newlywed.  We got married on Las Vegas at the Little Church of the West and had our reception at Pink Taco at the Hard Rock Hotel. It was amazing! We ordered a cupcake tower and mini cake from Retro Bakery, not only did they look tasty but they were hands down the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. We got Vanilla on Vanilla and Peanut Butter Cup….yummm. Our photographers, Matt and Amanda Nistor did a fabulous job. I couldn’t be happier.

Here are some pics from our wedding and there is more to come on the blogging front.

Wooden Details

With all that’s green and eco-friendly now-a-days what better way to as some nature to your weddingt han wood. Plain brown is soooo over rated, with wood, you get lovely shade that compliment eachother. Here are a couple detauls from my hard drive, that I’ve been trying to flush out.

Polaroid Inpsiration

I can’t even tell you how bummed I am that polaroid isn’t making film anymore and I’m way to cheap to buy any marked up film. Eff that. Anyway, In the begining stages of wedding planning I had this whole inspired polaroid wedding in mind. Here are some images I have on my hard drive that I loved.

Kicking Off A New Blog!!!!

I’m starting a new blog, focusing on Film Fatales and their style! So I thought I’d start off with a crossover post. Films with brides have always been successful, here are a couple of my favorite dresses from film over the years. Enjoy.

Claire Pettibone has a beautiful dress that I feel embodies an updated version of this dress. Claudette Colbert’s gown at the time was ground a ground breaking design, as bias cut was necessarily popular yet.

roxannefrontStephanie James Couture has an amazing selection of tea length dresses. I like this one because you don’t see boat neck styled tops very often, especially in a less formal dress. This one is fun and flirty though and very Audrey.

Rock n’ Roll Weddings

With the whole wedding process, you begin to understand the hardships of planning a wedding that reflects who you and your fiance are, while also making your family happy. Well, after being tortured with a whole wedding of what my parents and my grandparents and my aunts twice removed wanted. I decided to screw it all and do what I wanted to do. Go to Vegas.

Here though are some rad details to make your wedding more about your own personal style, your mom may not dig it, but she can deal.

Real Wedding: Amy and Gerald

Jake Holt shot this wedding in Austin. The bride has some killer style and their reception location was to die for. Not to mention the photo session by the pool is effing brilliant. This just goes to show you how a little flair and an excellent location can really give you awesome pictures and a good time.

I Love SF

Here is an awesome trash the dress session by Erica Berger. If you haven’t checked her out then you should. This brides style is epic. I love how her accessories don’t just stand out they coordinate with her backdrop. Ah, I love my city.
